The biggest driver of auto transport in the state is the Port of South Louisiana. This port is one of the biggest in the world and the biggest in the United States. Of course this ensures there are plenty of vehicles being shipped into and out of southern Louisiana but northern Louisiana can still be tough to ship to or out of for a low price. However, the state is very well connected by major highways so if you pay well you’ll still be able to find a carrier fairly quickly. And of course the proximity to Texas helps too.
Most of the attractions Louisiana has to offer like sporting events or the Mardi Gras celebration only keep people in the state very temporarily, not long enough to ship their cars with them. While the culture is certainly unique and an attractive place to live, Louisiana currently has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country and people won’t move somewhere if they can’t get a job there. Individual auto transport to Louisiana is very low.
If your shipment is coming from or going to the southern part of Louisiana around interstate 10 you’ll have a very easy experience and much better chance of getting a below average price. People in the northern part of the state will have to plan further ahead and should be more prepared to pay the going rate for transport.
